Why B2B or Manufacturing SEO is Necessary for Your Company

In today’s day and age, it’s not enough to just have a website available for prospective customers and clients to find you. You HAVE to be found first in search engines, before your competitors. So how do you get seen above the rest in and rank higher in Google? Nate Wheeler, Co-Owner and Marketing Director of weCreate Website Design and Marketing, demystifies SEO and gives you the basics of SEO in this valuable video so you can grow your Manufacturing or B2B company.

If you are manufacturer, a business to business seller, or have an online store, you need to watch this video till the end. You’ll learn why manufacturing SEO is necessary to grow your business. I’m going to tell you what the missing piece to your marketing has been, and how to fix it TODAY.
I work with manufacturers around the country and I’ve found that even beyond marketing services, the product we sell is hope.

Why hope? Over and over, companies we work with are stunned by the results we produce and they wonder why they waited so long to start doing things right. All of the sudden, they have a vision for what is possible. They actually can be getting new business from around the country or their region.

What I’m about to tell you is simple, but it needs to be done right.
First let me tell you emphatically that if you are a manufacturer, you can be getting more business through the web. There are individuals right now looking for what you do, whether you are a classic job shop, or provide a specific service like metal plating.

How do I know this?
Google gives us tons of data about the searches done in their search engine every day, around the world.
What you are looking at is a tool called keyword planner. I can simply type in a service that I provide and see an estimate of how many people in a specific region or country are typing that search query in.

What this tells us is that there are people looking for all different types of manufacturing services.
How do you get in front of them?

Google uses two methods to match up a search query like “aluminum die casting companies” with a list of first page search results.

The first one is “on page search engine optimization” which in very simplistic form means “the words on your website”. If someone is looking for aluminum die casting companies, and your website only talks about sporting goods, then Google is never going to match your website up with that search term.

The second method Google uses is “off page search engine optimization”. The reason why two websites might contain the same keywords but one ranks higher in Google than another (demonstrate a higher and lower) is “off page seo”.

Google devised a way that can approximately determine which website will provide more valuable information to the searcher. The most important part of off page seo is called backlinks, which come in a variety of forms.

To give you a rough example of a backlink, imagine your company belongs to the manufacturer’s association, which also has a listing for all of its members on the association website. Each listing contains a link to the member’s website. This is called a backlink.

Google uses backlinks from relevant, authoritative websites as a measure of credibility for your website. Not all backlinks are created equal, and some may even hurt your ranking, but when backlink building and on-page search engine optimization is done correctly, you will end up with ranking increases.
